GroundSleeve is a metal finned reinforcement system that has the purpose of involving a greater volume of ground to have a high resistance in the event of a vehicle impact on the guardrail.
GroundSleeve complies with the EN 1317-5 standard since, by intervening only on the terrain, it does not modify the geometric and mechanical characteristics of the certified barrier.
Therefore GroundSleeve DOES NOT REPRESENT A PRODUCT MODIFICATION.
Where is it installed?

The depth of insertion corresponds to the position of the plastic yield point defined during the crash test;

How is it sized?
GroundSleeve is sized according to the type of barrier and the characteristics of the site, in particular the distance between the finned plate and the U-bolt connecting the barrier pole;
For the sizing of each type, a FEM model was created in correspondence with the test result;
For verification, the test is carried out on site with the post of the project barrier and the installed system;
Verification of the correct formation of the plastic yield point and definitive evaluations.
